From cute and cuddly to a (little bit) creepy; aliens to super heroes, cartoons to feature films - nature inspires artists around the world to create legendary lands, mythical monsters, beautiful fairies and some fine furry friends. Imagination Station
July 30-August 3, Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm
Instructor: Anna Nuttall
Tuition: $305

Our imagination is where some of the best things in life begin! The world's most exciting inventions and discoveries started with imagining all the wild IMpossibilities first. The submarine was science fiction, flying was for the birds, computers filled a whole room to do math computations, and the internet was just a dream made of magic! A healthy imagination first needs time and space - free from goals, grades, instructions, and the structure of a typical busy day. In this camp we will explore this personal wonderland where our emotions, passions and interests meet our knowledge and experience. We'll experiment with tools and materials to discover what they can do; we'll make realistic, abstract, and inventive works of art in a variety of 2D and 3D mediums. We'll imagine the 'next best things', explore our minds and moods and dive into artistic questions of "what happens if...?", "I wonder...?" and "let's see what happens..."

Art Through Time

We will move through Ancient Art, to mural paintings, jumping to Art Nouveau, to the exciting brushstrokes in Impressionism, through the wild use of color in Fauvism, into Surrealism, Street Art, and touching into Abstract Art and beyond. With each movement, we will look at the artists and cultures that inspired the masterpieces to stimulate our own creative art.
