YOUTH ORCHESTRA PROGRAMS

Seacoast Youth Symphony Orchestra is sponsored by
Boynton, Waldron, Doleac, Woodman & Scott, P.A.

Now in its 27th season, our distinguished Seacoast Youth Symphony Orchestra (formerly the Bow Street Strings Program)
is a tiered program with three levels, ranging from age 5 to 18, providing opportunities for string players, winds and percussion. Join this growing orchestra where students from throughout the seacoast perform a variety of classical and contemporary music.

SEACOAST YOUTH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA with Nate Therrien
Open to intermediate to advanced students who have had substantial experience playing in ensembles and are ready for challenging repertoire, the Seacoast Youth Symphony Orchestra (SYSO) is a string orchestra that has begun to add winds
and percussion. We are transitioning to become a full orchestra over the next year. The 2016-17 Season continues with the February 11th ROCKestra concert at the Portsmouth High School Auditorium, combining four of PMAC’s Teen Rock Bands with the Orchestra. The season will culminate with concerts in May, showcasing a variety of orchestral music. SYSO nurtures every aspect of each player’s development, with sectionals and unique opportunities through a partnership with the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra. This is the premier musical experience for youth orchestral musicians in the Seacoast region. With funding from the Fuller Foundation, the NH Charitable Foundation, and the RockOn Foundation, SYSO has new scholarship opportunities for first-time members - please inquire when registering.
