We are excited to announce Mark Anderson, Bill Durling, and Joe Keefe as new members of the PMAC Board of Directors.
Anderson is a retired software engineer and architect from Liberty Mutual, Durling became Vice President of Corporate Communications at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts earlier in 2023, and Keefe has been President of Impax Asset Management LLC, the North American division of Impax Asset Management Group, since 2005.
“We are excited to welcome Mark, Bill, and Joe to the PMAC board of directors,” says Lisa Shawney, chair of PMAC’s Board of Directors. “These three new members have long histories of organizational leadership and community engagement, as well as strong pre-existing ties to PMAC.”
Says PMAC CEO Russ Grazier, “Each of these three new board members brings a wealth of knowledge and unique skills that will help PMAC grow its mission to build community through the arts. It’s a wonderful feeling to bring on new board members who have a strong connection to our organization through our music and arts programs, especially when each is a community leader in their own right.”
Mark Anderson, now retired, was a software engineer and architect for 33 years, first at Digital Equipment Corporation and then Liberty Mutual. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of New Hampshire. Mark and his wife, Robin Silva, have lived in Portsmouth for 30 years. Their son, Nathan, was one of PMAC’s early students starting in 2007, and was an active student and member of the PMAC community for 11 years. In retirement, Mark enjoys writing software for a small online business, College Spray Charts, serves on the board of directors for the Friends of the Kotzschmar Organ, and is active in the Presumpscot Regional Land Trust.
Bill Durling is an accomplished communications executive with deep and broad global communications expertise working for brands such as CVS Pharmacy (where he led their communications during the pandemic), Staples, Walmart, and now Blue Cross Blue Shield. He’s served as a change agent and transformative leader, guiding and advising CEOs and c-level executives on brand, strategy, corporate culture, reputation, brand narrative, media relations and employee engagement. While at Staples, he worked with Lady Gaga and her Born This Way Foundation on a breakthrough campaign focused on the importance of mental health awareness and kindness as kids return to school. In addition to joining the board at PMAC, Bill plays the piano for the PMAC Brewery Lane Big Band Jazz ensemble.
